Auto-Entrepreneur Status in Algeria

Since 2023, Algeria offers a simplified auto-entrepreneur status managed by the ANAE (National Auto-Entrepreneur Agency). It enables legal self-employment with reduced taxation.

Eligibility

  • Algerian nationality
  • Age 19+
  • Not currently employed or a civil servant
  • Annual turnover ≤ 5 million DZD (~$36,000 USD)
  • Activity within ANAE-approved sectors

Registration

  1. Create account on anae.dz
  2. Submit online application with supporting documents
  3. Receive auto-entrepreneur certificate (valid 1 year, renewable)
  4. Register with CASNOS within 10 days

Tax Regime

  • IFU (Flat Tax): 0.5%–2% of turnover depending on activity
  • VAT exempt if turnover < 5M DZD
  • No corporate tax (IBS) or formal accounting required
  • Simplified annual declaration

Social Security (CASNOS)

  • Annual contribution: 15% of declared income
  • Minimum contribution: ~43,200 DZD/year (based on SNMG)
  • Quarterly payment

Obligations

  • Issue compliant invoices for every service
  • Maintain a revenue register
  • File annual turnover declaration
  • Renew certificate annually
