Grower holding a tablet and inspecting trays of young seedlings in a plant nursery greenhouse in Algeria

A batch of seedlings, a flock of broilers or a pond of fingerlings cannot be managed like a box on a shelf: it lives for weeks, moves through stages, loses part of its numbers and takes up space you have to plan. The Almawarid Batch production module follows every batch from launch to exit, in your own words and without double entry.

The greenhouse notebook and the spreadsheet do not say what is still alive

In a nursery or on a poultry farm, the notebook records sowings and arrivals, rarely the rest. Nobody knows how many plants survived transplanting, what grading set aside, or why one flock lost more than the previous one. Losses are written down as “miscellaneous”, and what has no cause has no fix.

Planning is no easier. A customer wants 100,000 plants by 15 March: when should you sow, and how many, given your usual losses? Will the greenhouse have room? The spreadsheet answers once, then nobody knows which version was approved.

A living batch, six counters, your vocabulary

You pick your trade (nursery, poultry, greenhouse vegetables, aquaculture, mushrooms, ageing and maturing) and the module adopts your words: “flock” and “house” for a poultry farmer, “cohort” and “pond” for a fish farmer, “batch of plants” and “greenhouse” for a nursery. You describe your sites, read from the company org chart, your locations with their capacity, your species and varieties linked to items in your catalogue, and the stages of your cycle.

Each batch holds six figures: launched, alive, first grade, graded out, lost and released. They only change through recorded movements: launch, grading, split, transfer, loss and release. A loss requires a reason from a closed list (biological, technical, handling, sanitary, counting difference, theft), and no counter can go negative. Inputs consumed leave the store, and finished output enters stock.

How it works, in five screens

  1. Production settings: trade, counting unit and rounding: this choice is what makes the module speak your language.
  2. Technical sheets: a variety's growing plan, step by step: days after launch, expected input and expected rate; due activities are generated from it every day.
  3. Record a movement: on the batch record: grading, split, transfer to another location, explained loss or release, every action written to the batch journal.
  4. Production schedule: batches as bars with any delay, and the occupancy of each location against its capacity.
  5. Production plans: you start from the delivery quantity and date; back-scheduling calculates the launch date and the quantity to launch, then the plan goes for approval.

What you gain

  • Losses have a cause. Every loss is explained and dated: you see where and why a batch loses, and you act on the right cause.
  • Survival read, not guessed. Each batch shows its survival rate against what was launched, and the journal keeps every movement.
  • A plan you can redo in your head. The screen shows the calculation (quantity to deliver ÷ the sheet's cumulative rate, delivery date minus its duration), and the coefficients are frozen in the plan.
  • Locations without surprises. Each greenhouse, house or pond's capacity is compared with what occupies it; a location with no declared capacity is never flagged by mistake.
  • Nothing kept twice. Sites, items and stock are Almawarid's own: what is consumed and produced shows in stock without retyping.

Who is it for?

The Batch production module is for businesses that produce, in batches, things that live over time, and need to follow quantities, stages and losses rather than manufacturing orders. To assemble products from a bill of materials, the Manufacturing module is the right fit.

  • Plant nurseries and horticulturists
  • Poultry farms working in flocks
  • Fish farms and aquaculture sites
  • Mushroom growers
  • Ageing and maturing cellars

Frequently asked questions

My trade is not on the list: can the module still help?

Yes. With no trade selected it uses neutral words (batch, location, variety) and the cycle stages are fully configurable. A vocabulary specific to your business can be discussed with the advisor.

How do I take over batches already in place on day one?

A batch can be declared as taken over: its launch date is then an estimate, and the software never counts it as late for lack of a reliable date.

Does the production plan go through approval?

Yes. A workflow is set up on activation: approval by the manager, technical sign-off, then approval by management. A plan with a line that has no technical sheet cannot be submitted.

Does the module calculate a batch's cost price?

Not yet. Plans carry quantities, not prices, and output entering stock is given no invented cost; the inputs consumed remain visible on the batch.

See the Batch production module on your own business

Bring the tracking sheet of one of your current batches, greenhouse notebook or flock register: during the demo we rebuild it in Almawarid with your stages and your words.

  • The demo. An advisor shows you the Batch production module on your own business, online and on your screen, and answers your questions. Request a demo.
  • The trial version. It is switched on with an advisor during the demo, on your own account: your real products, your real customers, and 14 days to work in it. Create your account to request it.
  • The customisation workshops. During the trial, we adapt the screens, documents and settings with you to the way you work. These workshops are free.

The Batch production module is switched on on request: ask for it during the demo, the advisor gives you its price, and you only pay if you decide to continue. The base plans are on the pricing page (in French).
