“Is it ready?” The customer calls three times, the paper stub is lost, and at the back of the shop a jacket has been waiting two months to be collected. The Workshop job tracking module of Almawarid follows every drop-off from counter to pickup: a ticket with a QR code for the customer, a board where each job moves from step to step, and a WhatsApp message in one click when it is ready.
Paper stubs, phone calls and overflowing rails
In a dry cleaner's, a phone repair shop or a tailoring workshop, tracking lives on a stub book and in the owner's memory. Nobody knows whether the item is being washed, waiting for a quote or already ready; the customer calls to find out, and every call interrupts the work.
Jobs that are ready but never collected pile up on the rails, tying up space and money. Workshop delays only show when the customer is standing at the counter, unhappy.
Your steps, one board, a ticket the customer can follow
You describe the steps of your trade once, or start from a template: laundry (received, sorting, washing, drying, ironing, packing, ready, delivered), repair (received, diagnosis, quote accepted, repair, tested, ready, delivered) or tailoring (received, measurements, cutting, sewing, fitting, ready, delivered). If no template fits your trade, you create your own steps one by one, and the step marked as final turns the job into delivered.
At drop-off, the job is entered with the customer's name and phone, the items, the price and the planned pickup date, and the drop-off ticket prints straight away, on 80 mm or A4, with a tracking QR code. On the workshop board there is one column per step: “Next step” moves the job forward, delays are flagged, and a banner points out jobs that are ready but not collected. The customer scans the QR code and sees where the job stands, without calling.
How it works, in five screens
- Start with a template: laundry, repair or tailoring: the steps are created in one click, or you enter your own one by one.
- New order: customer, phone, items, price and pickup date; the “Print the drop-off ticket after creation” box produces the ticket with its QR code.
- Workshop: the board of work in progress, one column per step, sorted by pickup date; “Next step” moves the job forward, and a button records whether it is paid or still to collect.
- Notify on WhatsApp: when it is ready, one click opens WhatsApp with a message to the customer quoting the reference and the step.
- Order tracking: the public page opened by the QR code: steps completed, current step, planned pickup date and the shop's contact details, without the customer's name.
What you gain
- Fewer calls at the counter. The customer follows the job from their phone with the ticket's QR code.
- Nothing gets lost. Each drop-off has its reference, its ticket and its place on the board until pickup.
- Delays show before the customer does. Jobs whose pickup date has passed are flagged on the board.
- Fewer forgotten items on the rails. The banner of ready jobs not collected says whom to remind, and the reminder goes out in one click.
- Stock follows. If the job includes stock items, they leave stock when it is delivered, and come back if you step back.
Who is it for?
The module serves every trade where a customer drops something off and comes back for it. The steps are yours: the same tool fits a dry cleaner, a repairer, a tailor or a cobbler. It builds on Almawarid customer orders, where every drop-off stays searchable.
- Dry cleaners, laundries and launderettes
- Phone, computer and appliance repairers
- Tailoring and alteration workshops
- Cobblers and leather workshops
- Framers, engravers and small job shops
Frequently asked questions
Does the customer get a message automatically when it is ready?
Not automatically: on the board, the “Notify on WhatsApp” button opens WhatsApp with the message already written, and you send it in one click. The customer can also follow progress at any time with the QR code on the ticket.
Does the tracking QR code work with the Desktop edition?
The QR code is only printed when the ticket comes from the online version. On a Desktop station, the tracking address cannot be reached from the customer's phone, so the ticket is printed without a QR code.
Can we take payment at pickup?
Yes: each job carries a “Paid” or “To collect” state that you switch in one click, and the ticket shows whether it is already paid or payable at pickup.
What does the customer see on the tracking page?
The reference, the steps done, the current step, the planned pickup date and your shop's contact details. Their name does not appear, so a lost ticket exposes nobody.
Do delivered jobs disappear?
They leave the workshop board so it stays readable, but remain in the order list and history, with search.
