The site is handed over, the invoice has gone out, and still nobody really knows whether it paid off. The cement taken from the depot, the diesel paid in cash, the crane hire: everything got mixed with the other sites. The Almawarid Job costing module attaches every cost to its file, whether a site, a batch or a flock, and gives you the real cost price of each one.
When everything goes into the same pot, no file has a cost
A business that works by site, by batch or by customer order runs several files at once. Goods come out of the same depot, purchases arrive from the same supplier, expenses leave the same cash box. At the end of the month you know total costs, but not what each file consumed.
Without that figure, the next quote is guesswork: you take the old price, add a little, and hope. The loss-making site goes unnoticed behind the profitable one, and the poultry farmer does not know what each kilo of his last flock cost him.
Every cost picks its job the moment it arises
In Almawarid, a job is a file: a construction site, a production batch, a poultry flock, a customer order. It has its code, dates, expected end date and, if you wish, a quantity produced. Each cost is then attached to the job when it happens: a stock outflow, a supplier purchase order, a cash payment, or a cost entered by hand.
The job record adds everything up: stock used at weighted average cost, direct purchases before tax, expenses paid from the cash box and other costs. A cash payment that settles a purchase order already counted is not counted a second time. If you entered a quantity, the unit cost price is shown: the price per square metre, per kilo or per piece.
Following a job, in four screens
- New job: a name, a free type (site, batch, flock, project), dates, expected end date and expected quantity; the code AFF-0001 is assigned automatically.
- Job / site: this field appears on the stock outflow, the purchase order and the cash payment: you pick the job, and the cost follows it.
- Cost price: the record lists the stock used, direct purchases, expenses paid from the cash box and other costs, with the total cost and the unit cost.
- Jobs: the list of all your files with their total cost, status, and an alert as the expected end date approaches or once it has passed.
What you gain
- Quotes based on real costs. The cost of the last site or batch becomes the basis for the next price.
- Overruns spotted in time. Total cost can be read while the job is open, not after it closes.
- No cost counted twice. An expense that settles a document already counted is set aside automatically.
- A model that fits your trade. The same record works for a site, a production batch, a poultry flock or a customer order.
- The detail behind each figure. Every stock outflow, purchase order and expense is listed on the record, with its date.
Who is it for?
The Job costing module serves businesses that work file by file and want to know what each one cost: construction, workshops, farmers, engineering firms, service providers. With the Construction sites module, available on request, each site opens its own job automatically.
- Construction companies and building trades
- Poultry farmers and agricultural holdings
- Make-to-order workshops
- Engineering firms and service providers
- Joiners, printers and clothing workshops
Frequently asked questions
Are sales attached to the job?
Not yet. The record calculates the full cost price; the margin is read by comparing it with what you invoiced or with your selling price. Linking invoices to a job is not developed.
Is labour time counted?
Not automatically. You can add labour as a manual cost, with its label, amount and date.
How do I avoid counting an expense twice?
The software itself sets aside a cash payment that settles a purchase order, an invoice or a supplier commitment already counted. For the rest, the record reminds you not to enter by hand a cost already valued at the stock outflow.
Can a foreign-currency expense be assigned?
Yes: a payment entered in euros or another currency, with the day's rate, is converted into dinars in the job's cost.
Can a job be closed?
Yes. A closed job is no longer offered in the entry lists, and it can be reopened if needed.
